Original Nestle Toll House Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose four

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups (12-oz. package) Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in large mixing bowl until combined.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  6. Stir in morsels and nuts.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Mrs. Fields' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

2 cups of butter

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of brown sugar

4 beaten eggs

2 Tablespoons vanilla

4 cups of flour

5 cups of oats (put in blender first until powder)

1 tspn salt

2 tspn baking powder

2 tspn baking soda

24 ozs of chocolate chips

8 ozs grated plain Hershey Bar

3 cups of chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  2. Mix the butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla together.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, salt, baking soda, baking powder, chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar and nuts.
  4. Add creamed ingredients to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  5. Place golf ball sized cookie dough balls on an ungreased cookie sheet
  6. Bake at 350 for 11 minutes.

Obviously, this makes a lot of chocolate chip cookies. Fortunately, the recipe is easy to cut in half.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 3/4 cups flour

1 1/2 teaspoons instant espresso powder, slightly crushed

8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Cream the butter with the sugars until fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or 10 to 12 minutes for a crispier cookie. Makes 12 to 15 large cookies.
